Firefox has set a new world record for number of software downloads in a 24 hour period. With the launch of Firefox 3.0 on 17th June, Mozilla’s “Download Day” promotions resulted in a staggering 8 million plus downloads in just 24 hours. With downloads peaking at over 9,000 a minute, it took only 5 hours to surpass Firefox 2.0’s record of 1.6 million downloads in 2006! As of 3rd July, 2008, more than 28 million people have downloaded Firefox…and counting… M&M’s Fun!
