HSBC announced last week that they are putting their global corporate and financial PR account out to pitch, which is thought to be worth a hefty six figure sum.
Alongside the usual suspects such as Brunswickand FD, also pitching for the account are Maitland(who currently handle HSBC’s financial PR) and Burson-Marsteller(currently handling HSBC’s public affairs).
Unsurprisingly, given today’s economic climate, the briefwill be ‘less focused on financial calendar work’ but ‘will centre on wider messaging and corporate reputation’. Given HSBC’s share price fall of 8% yesterday, it certainly looks set to be a very interesting and challenging account to work on.
